There are lots of maps for m1 and m2 online, you've just got to ask permission to use the maps...
I'd like to contribute something, but right now I'm busy redesigning mp2d Smile
BTW, There will be a links section in the new mp2d.co.uk, it will include a list of all the metroid fan games.
It's pretty much the same as the 'fan games' section on scu.

I was considering making a graphic version of my Zero Mission guide, but I'm afraid of how long it will take. Confused

Guys, I talked to Radix about using his map for Metroid 2. If you haven't seen it, it is posted at GFAQs, and IMHO, it is the best M2 map you'll find anywhere.

Radix asked for one stipulation regarding his map

Radix wrote:
as long as the file is unmodified from what is on gf i dont care what happens to it

I'll bring this to Andy's attention for a future site update.

EDIT:

I also have for MP2 all Missile, Energy Tank, Power Bomb, and Beam Ammo locations. I am about to start on a list of scan locations which will include one time scans.

Note: My locations lack images, it just contains room names.

EDIT 2:

Andy is going to use Radix's Metroid 2 map. Many thanks go out to Radix for letting us use it.

I could make a paint map for Metroid, if it would help.

One that is similar to the one that is on there now, just zoomed in more. Though that would still be pretty huge, even if I just use single pixels per block. It might be too large in area/filesize.

I'm working on the Super Metroid boss FAQ as we speak, though I still need to pester Kejardon for information and take a few screenshots. The one over at GameFAQs is worthless.

What about the cameos page? Samus has only been in three non-metroid games, is there any need for it if it's completely bare?

Er...I believe you're mistaken there. SSBM, SSB, Tetris and Kirby's Dreamland also featured Samus. That makes.....4... Laughing

I would like to make a list of Cameos and MP Special challenges for this site.

-Samus Cameos--By BBX25
As you all know, Metroid games aren't the only games Samus has appeared in, She has made numerous appearences in other games, and this guide will address all known cameos.

-Super Smash Brothers: Melee--GCN-
This has got to be the most known cameo as Samus is even a playable character! Just pick her when selecting a character (She is already unlocked) and play away! It was her first chance to play as her after Super Metroid, and gave new hope to Metroid fans who were dying for a new game.

-Kirby Dream Land 3--SNES-

In world 5-2, there are three rooms holding one or more Metroids. They will try to attack Kirby, but they don't do any damage. You can't attack them with most of Kirby's attacks, but since ice is a known weakness of Metroids, find an enemy that gives you a freeze power, then destroy all six Metroids. After the Metroids are destroyed, head to the end of the stage to meet Samus, who won't have her helmet on. If you don't destroy the metroids, She will just stand there and not interact with you.

-Super Mario RPG-
When you reach Land's End for the first time, avoid completing it, and instead head all the way back to the Mushroom Kingdom.

Sleep in the Mushroom Kingdom Castle guest room. Once you wake up, head to Princess Toadstool's room and look at the bed. Samus Aran is sleeping in the bed, resting before her battle against Mother Brain again.

Samus will also appear as a doll in a toybox, elsewhere in the game.

-Kid Icarus-
In the final level, creatures that look like Metroids begin to attack you, and although the manual doesn't identify them as Metroids, it says that they could be from another planet; SR388?

-Tetris- (Nes; Nintendo version)
Beating Game "B" on several difficulty earns you a cinematic of Nintendo characters playing instruments upon completion; Is that Samus playing the viola?

-Wario Land 2-
Should you beat LV 49, you will recieve a Metroid Trophy as your prize.

-F1 Race- (Game Boy)
At the start of each race, different Nintendo characters greet you. Samus appears before Course 7.

-Kirby Superstar-

Kirby stars in another game, and so does Samus. Two Metroid related cameos occur; there is an ability call the "Screw ball" (Screw attack reference), and once you get the Stone Defense, you may randomly turn into a Samus statue when using it!

-Cameo guide complete-Ready for upload-

Metroid Prime Challenges

-Coming Soon-

How about a normal walkthrough for Prime? My friend is playing through Prime 1 for the first time ever, and, being the little SCU Advertiser that I am, said, "Hey, check out www.samus.co.uk!!" Well, he did, and he wasn't happy. The guides/walkthroughs up now assume one has done SJF and early ice beam, and he got really frustrated and IM'd me saying so just now. I gave him the rundown about going to Phendrana and getting boost ball and all, so he got it eventually. However, if we want to cater to all levels of Metroid gamers, we may want to have a general walkthrough rather than just the specialized ones.

I'd say a walkthrough that walks a person through the game in sequence, explaining the order of items and where to go to get them in correct order, as the programmers intended, and gives techniques on boss fights... basically a walkthrough that doesn't assume sequence breaking or SW usage or boss skipping... just walking a person through the game as the programmers intended it to be played.
